At Maticon Engineering, we have over the years carried out a wide range of tasks within the design and strength calculation of metal and machine structures. Our tasks have particularly included bolted and welded steel and aluminum structures that needed to be CE-marked and comply with the safety and health requirements according to the Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC.
In our work, we strive to follow product-related standards or norms to ensure that the construction is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and meets the specified safety level.
We work with a wide range of recognized standards, norms, and guidelines, including:
For simple constructions, we perform strength calculations in spreadsheets using the formulas and safety factors prescribed by standards, norms, and legislation.
For more complex constructions, it may be necessary to use finite element methods (FEM/FEA) to calculate and verify the strength and stability of the construction.
We have many years of experience with finite element calculations, both for mechanical engineering constructions as well as pressure-bearing equipment and systems. We work with both linear and non-linear static and dynamic calculations, lifetime calculations (fatigue), thermal calculations, and stability calculations.
