Damage and Failure Investigations

Damage investigation / failure of multi-chamber welded pressure vessel, where instability occurred during pressure testing.

When structures fail—either partially or completely—it is often crucial to determine the cause of the damage or failure in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Damage and failure investigations typically involve a detailed review of the failed structure, along with a thorough analysis of the design criteria underlying the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of the system.

Over the years, Maticon Engineering has regularly led or participated as an external expert in damage and failure investigations involving pressure equipment, installations, and metal or mechanical structures.

Playground Equipment and Amusement Rides

Maticon Engineering has experience with playgrounds and playground equipment in accordance with DS/EN 1176, as we have previously conducted certified inspections.

We no longer perform certified inspections, but now focus more on the structural aspects of playground equipment. In this area, we calculate and assess safety-related aspects for both new and, in particular, existing playground structures in relation to the requirements of DS/EN 1176 and the Danish Building Regulations (BR18).

In addition, we have experience with strength calculations and assessment of load levels for amusement rides in accordance with DS/EN 13814, including evaluation of materials and material fatigue.
